Overview of How to Create a Folder in Windows 11:

It is possible to create a folder in Windows 11 after you begin to create and save files. You can create a folder in Windows 11, and also create subfolders, to help you organize your saved materials. You can create a folder in Windows 11 within almost any other folder you can access though File Explorer. It may also be possible to do this on shared network drives, if you have the required network permission to create folders.

To create a new folder in Windows 11 using File Explorer, first open the folder within which to create a new subfolder in File Explorer so its contents appear in the pane at the right side of the window. Then click the “New” drop-down button in the Ribbon at the top of the window and select the “Folder” choice from its drop-down menu.

Windows will then create a new folder within the right pane of the File Explorer window and highlight its name, which is “New folder,” by default. Type the name to give to the folder. Then click outside of the folder’s name box into the blank area of the window or press the “Enter” key on your keyboard to set the new folder’s name.
