Create Folder Shortcuts in Outlook: Overview

            You can create folder shortcuts in Outlook in the “Shortcuts” group on the Navigation Bar. To create folder shortcuts in Outlook, first click the “Shortcuts” button in the Navigation Bar. Doing this then shows the “Shortcuts” shortcut group in the Folder Pane at the left side of the application. Then right-click the actual word “Shortcuts” shown within the Folder Pane.

            Doing this then shows a popup menu of available choices. Click the “New Shortcut” choice to open the “Add to Folder Pane” dialog box. In this dialog box, select the folder to which to add a shortcut. Then click the “OK” button. The shortcut to the selected folder is then added to the shortcut list.

            To delete a folder shortcut, right-click the folder shortcut in this list to delete. Then select the “Delete Shortcut” command in the pop-up menu that appears. Then click the “Yes” button in the confirmation pop-up box that appears to delete the shortcut.

  1. To create folder shortcuts in Outlook in the “Shortcuts” group, click the “Shortcuts” button in the Navigation Bar.
  2. Then right-click the actual word “Shortcuts” shown in the Folder Pane to show a popup menu of choices.
  3. Click the “New Shortcut” choice to open the “Add to Folder Pane” dialog box.
  4. In this dialog box, select the folder to which to add a shortcut.
  5. Then click the “OK” button.
  6. The shortcut to the selected folder is then added to the shortcut list.
  7. To delete a folder shortcut, right-click the shortcut to delete in this list.
  8. Then select the “Delete Shortcut” command in the pop-up menu.
  9. Then click the “Yes” button in the confirmation pop-up box that appears to delete the shortcut.
