Create Folder Shortcuts in Outlook: Overview

            You can create folder shortcuts in Outlook in the “Shortcuts” group on the Navigation Bar. To create folder shortcuts in Outlook, first click the “Shortcuts” button in the Navigation Bar. Then right-click the actual word “Shortcuts” shown within the Folder Pane.

            Doing this then displays a popup menu of available options. Click the “New Shortcut” choice to open the “Add to Folder Pane” dialog box. Here you can click the folder to which you would like to add a shortcut. Then click the “OK” button. The shortcut to the selected folder will then be added to the shortcut list.

            To delete a folder shortcut, simply right-click on the shortcut in this list. Then select the “Delete Shortcut” command. Click “Yes” in the confirmation popup box that appears to delete the shortcut.

Create Folder Shortcuts in Outlook: Instructions

  1. To create folder shortcuts in Outlook in the “Shortcuts” group, first click the “Shortcuts” button in the Navigation Bar.
  2. Then right-click the actual word “Shortcuts” shown within the Folder Pane to display a popup menu of choices.
  3. Click the “New Shortcut” choice to open the “Add to Folder Pane” dialog box.
  4. Click the folder to which you would like to add a shortcut.
  5. Then click the “OK” button.
  6. The shortcut to the selected folder will then be added to the shortcut list.
  7. To delete a folder shortcut, right-click the shortcut to delete in this list.
  8. Then select the “Delete Shortcut” command in the pop-up menu.
  9. Click “Yes” in the message box that appears to delete the shortcut.
