This video lesson, titled “How to Add a Device in Windows 11,” shows you how to add a device in Windows 11. This video lesson is from our complete Windows 11 tutorial, titled “Mastering Windows Made Easy v.11.”

Overview of How to Add a Device in Windows 11:

This article shows you how to add a device in Windows 11. Windows 11 automatically detects most devices added using USB, wireless, and Bluetooth. However, to manually add a device in Windows 11, if needed, open the “Settings” app window. Then click the “Bluetooth & devices” button at the left side of the screen to show the Bluetooth & devices settings for your computer.

To manually add a device in Windows 11, click the “Add device” button at the top of the “Bluetooth & devices” settings page. Alternatively, click the “Add device” button within the “Devices” setting button. Either way, a new “Add a device” window then opens.

In the “Add a device” window, select the protocol used to connect the new device from the listing shown. Windows 11 will then attempt to find available unconnected devices using that protocol. If it finds the device, then select the device in the list that appears. If needed, enter any code to connect. Once the selected device is connected, click the “Done” button in the “Add a device” window to finish, if needed.
