How to Close a File in Photoshop: Video
This video lesson, titled “Learn How to Close a File in Adobe Photoshop: A Training Tutorial,” shows the different ways to close a file in Photoshop. This video lesson is from our complete Photoshop tutorial, titled “Mastering Photoshop Made Easy.”
Overview:
To close a file in Photoshop, click the small “x” button at the right end of the file’s name in the tab at the top of the document window. Alternatively, select “File| Close” from the Menu Bar. Performing either action closes the currently-active file in Photoshop. To close all opened files in Photoshop, instead, select “File| Close All” from the Menu Bar. Selecting this command closes all opened files in the Photoshop application, even if the file is not currently active.
Alternatively, to close all files except for the current file, select “File| Close Others” from the Menu Bar. Alternatively, to close the current file and then open Adobe Bridge, if desired, select “File| Close and Go to Bridge…” from the Menu Bar.
