Instructions:
- To create a new document immediately after opening Word, click the type of document to create in the listing of available templates that appears at the right side of the startup screen.
- Alternatively, to show more new document templates, click the “New” button at the left side of the startup screen, if shown, or click the “More templates” link below the template listing to show the “New” section of the backstage view.
- Alternatively, to make a new document if already working in Word, click the “File” tab in the Ribbon and then select the “New” command at the left side of the backstage view to view a similar screen.
- To then create a document from an Office template, click a document template choice in the listing of templates at the right side of the screen.
- Word then opens a pop-up box with a short description of the template.
- Finally, click the “Create” button in the pop-up box to download the template and create a new document based on the selected template.
- Alternatively, to immediately create a new blank document in Word, click the “Blank document” template choice in the listing of templates at the right side of the screen.
