Open a Group in Outlook: Video Lesson

This video lesson, titled “Accessing Groups,” shows you how to access and open a group in Outlook. This video lesson is from our complete Outlook tutorial, titled “Mastering Outlook Made Easy v.2019 and 365.”

Open a Group in Outlook: Overview

This lesson shows you how to open a group in Outlook. Groups allow you to work with a team of people within your organization. The group shares a group email address, can share files using OneDrive, and share a group calendar. Groups are available with Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) and also available for Office 2019. However, it is important to note that groups in Outlook require using either an Exchange Server or an Exchange Online Server.

To open a group in Outlook, click the “Folders” icon in the Navigation Bar. Then click the arrow next to the “Groups” section to expand and collapse the listing of your existing groups, if any. To open a group in Outlook, click the named folder you want to open to display the contents of the group in the Inbox and Reading panes.
