Adobe Photoshop is an excellent program to learn, as you can use the skills, terms, and techniques you learn in this application in many other Adobe applications. For example, after learning this application, you will find it easier to learn an application like Adobe Illustrator.
This tutorial starts by introducing the student to the Photoshop environment. You then learn how to open Photoshop files in Camera Raw and in Photoshop. After that, you learn about basic image editing and color settings. You then look at using Photoshop’s painting tools and brushes. Next, you learn how to make pixel-based selections and apply fills, patterns, colors, strokes, and gradients to selections. You then learn about layers in Photoshop.
The next part of this tutorial focuses on using vector data in images, including text, paths, and shapes. The tutorial then shows you how to use more advanced tools for image correction and enhancement. You then examine using artboards and saving, printing, and exporting files in Photoshop. Finally, you learn how to find additional help in Photoshop. The practice exercises in this manual use files included within the “Samples” folder in the tutorial product.
