Preview a Slideshow in Lightroom Classic CC: Video Lesson

This video lesson, titled “Previewing Slideshows,” shows you how to preview a slideshow in Lightroom Classic CC. This video lesson is from our complete Lightroom Classic CC tutorial, titled “Mastering Lightroom Classic Made Easy v.CC.”

Preview a Slideshow in Lightroom Classic CC: Overview

You can preview a slideshow in Lightroom Classic CC as you create it in the Slideshow module. Doing this frequently helps you catch mistakes and formatting errors before saving or exporting the slideshow. The easiest way to preview a slideshow in Lightroom Classic CC is to use the controls in the Slideshow module toolbar.

To preview a slideshow in Lightroom Classic CC from a selected slide, click the “Play” button in the toolbar. Alternatively, you can also click the “Preview” button at the bottom of the panel grouping at the right side of the Slideshow module. At that point, the preview begins and the “Play” button in the toolbar changes into a “Pause” button. You can then click it again to pause the preview, if needed. You can also click the “Go to the previous slide” and the “Go to the next slide” buttons to navigate the slides in the preview. After starting the preview, you can click the button that used to be the “Go to first slide” button, and which is now the “Stop the slideshow” button, at the left side of the toolbar to stop the preview.

You can also adjust the quality of a slideshow preview. To do this, use the “Quality” drop-down menu at the bottom of the Playback panel to select the preview’s quality. Selecting the “Draft” option displays the preview faster, but at a lower quality. Selecting “High” displays the best slideshow preview available but takes longer to display. Note that the “Quality” setting in the Playback panel does not impact the quality of your actual slideshow. It only changes the way the preview looks in Lightroom Classic CC.
