Apple revealed several new products at the Apple Event on October 16th, 2014. These new products include a new iMac with a 5K Retina display, starting at $2499. The new 5K Retina display on the iMac is currently the world’s highest resolution display. It is also available at a price far less than many 4K displays used in HD TVs currently in the market.

In addition to the gorgeous new iMac, Apple also released a new, improved version of the Mac Mini. The new Mac Mini boasts a new fourth-generation Intel core processor, faster graphics and wireless performance, Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3 connections, an optional flash Fusion Drive, and a starting price point of $499.

The new iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 were also on display at the event. The new iPad Air 2 includes improved back and front cameras, a new and faster A8X processor, Apple Pay and Touch ID. At 6.1mm, it is also thinner than previous iPads. The iPad Mini 3 also includes Apple Pay and Touch ID. Both models are also available in the highly coveted gold color.

The release of OS X Yosemite as a free download after the event helped to complete Apple’s change to the new iOS 8/OS X Yosemite operating system environment. iOS 8.1, which features Apple Pay, a restored Camera Roll, a beta iCloud Photo Library, and SMS Handoff, is available for download starting this coming Monday, October 20th, 2014.

OS X Yosemite features a beautiful new design, improved search function, and the ability to send and receive calls and text messages when connected to the same Wi-Fi network as a compatible iPhone. OS X Yosemite also boasts a new and improved Notification Center that displays an overview of your day and allows various apps to display their information within it.
