The Profit and Loss Section of the Home Page in QuickBooks Online: Overview

The Profit and Loss section of the Home Page in QuickBooks Online is where the Income and Expenses are combined to give you a “Net Income” number. On the left is the numerical representation of the Income and Expenses, followed by a graph on the right displaying the information broken down by the date range you chose.

Clicking on any part of the “Profit and Loss” section will take you to a transaction report page. This page is similar to the Expense page, with the addition of a “Collapse” or “Expand” button next to the “Customize” button. The button label will show “Collapse,” if the report is already expanded to show detailed information about each section, or “Expand,” if the report is collapsed to show only basic information.
