Add a Favorite to Microsoft Edge: Overview

When you add a favorite to Microsoft Edge, you mark a webpage as a “favorite” web page that is saved into your “Favorites” list within the Hub in Microsoft Edge, so you can easily find and view it again in the future. To add a favorite to Microsoft Edge, display the page to mark as a favorite within Microsoft Edge. Then click the “Add to favorites or reading list” button, which looks like a star, at the right end of the address bar to open a flyout pane.

Ensure that the “Favorites” button at the top of the flyout pane appears blue and underlined to indicate it is selected. If not, click the “Favorites” button at the top of the flyout pane to select it. The name of the web page appears in the “Name” field in the drop-down. You can change this field’s value, if desired. Then use the “Create in” drop-down to select within which “Favorite” folder you want to save the link to the web page.

If you want to create a new “Favorite” folder within which you can store the link to better categorize your favorites, you can click the “Create new folder” link in the flyout pane. Then type the name of the new folder into the “Folder name” field that appears. If you decide not to create the new folder at that point, you can click the “Back” button to cancel its creation. When you are ready to add the web page to the selected folder or into the newly created folder, click the “Add” button at the bottom of the flyout pane.
