Overview of How to Use Microsoft Edge to View Web Pages:
To use Microsoft Edge to view a web page whose web address you know, type its URL into the address bar in the toolbar at the top of the current tab in the Microsoft Edge app in Windows 11. Then press the “Enter” key on your keyboard. Alternatively, select the website or search result to view from the drop-down list of results that appears as you start to type into the address bar.
Alternatively, to use Microsoft Edge to search the web using your default search provider, type the words or phrases for which to search into the address bar in the toolbar at the top of the Microsoft Edge app. Then press the “Enter” key on your keyboard. Alternatively, select the search result term to view from the drop-down of results shown when you start to type into the address bar.
A search results web page then appears and shows search result hyperlinks to web pages related to the search terms you typed. You can click these hyperlinks to view the associated web pages. These web pages may open in the same tab or in a new tab, depending on the link opening settings of your default search provider.
To move backward and forward through the web pages you have visited within a tab in Microsoft Edge, click the “Click to go back” and “Click to go forward” buttons at the left end of the toolbar. To refresh the current web page in a tab, click the “Refresh” button in the toolbar. If you want to view your home page in Microsoft Edge, click the “Home” button in the toolbar.

To open a new tab in Microsoft Edge, click the “New tab” button, which looks like a plus sign, to the right of the opened tabs. To close a tab in Microsoft Edge, click the “Close tab” button, which looks like a small “X” at the right end of the tab. If you want to switch between opened tabs in Microsoft Edge, click the desired tab. To close the entire Microsoft Edge app, click the “Close” button in the upper-right corner of the app window.
