Overview:
What Is Microsoft Teams?
Microsoft Teams is a communication and collaboration app that lets you chat with other people, participate in meetings, make calls, and share files. While Teams is no longer included as a dedicated taskbar feature in Windows 11, you can still use the Microsoft Teams app for personal, work, or school communication.
How to Open or Install Microsoft Teams in Windows 11:
To open Microsoft Teams in Windows 11, click the “Start” button and then click the “Microsoft Teams” app, if it is installed. Alternatively, click the “Search” button and search for “Microsoft Teams.” If Teams is not installed on your computer, you can download it from the Microsoft Store or from the Microsoft Teams website.
Sign In to Microsoft Teams with a Microsoft Account or Work or School Account:
The first time you open Teams, sign in with your Microsoft account, work account, or school account. After signing in, the Teams window displays the available sections you can use to communicate and collaborate with other users.
How to Chat in Microsoft Teams:
To send a chat message, click the “Chat” section and then select an existing conversation or start a new chat. Type your message into the message box and then click the “Send” button or press the “Enter” key on your keyboard. The conversation then appears in the chat list, where you can read and respond to messages.
How to Join a Meeting in Microsoft Teams:
To participate in a meeting, click the “Calendar” section, if available, to view scheduled meetings. Then click a meeting and select the option to join it. You can also join a meeting by clicking a meeting link received in an email message, calendar invitation, or chat message. Before joining, Teams may let you adjust your camera, microphone, and audio settings.
How to Start a Meeting in Microsoft Teams:
To start a meeting, click the “Meet now” or “New” button, if available, and then invite participants to join. Depending on the version of Teams you are using, you can share a meeting link, send invitations, or schedule the meeting for a future date and time.
How to Change the Settings in Microsoft Teams:
To access the Teams settings, click the “Settings and more” ellipsis mark button in the upper-right corner of the Teams window and then click the “Settings” command. The settings window lets you manage your account information, notifications, appearance, devices, privacy settings, and other Teams preferences. To close Microsoft Teams when finished, click the “Close” button in the upper-right corner of the Teams window.
