Alternatively, you can update the camera raw file’s metadata and then open the image in Photoshop. Alternatively, you can update the metadata of the camera raw file and then open the image in Photoshop as a Smart Object. Finally, and alternatively, you can skip updating the camera raw file’s metadata and just open a copy of the camera raw image with the applied adjustments in Photoshop, instead.
How to Only Save Camera Raw Adjustments in Photoshop
To save the updates to the camera raw file’s adjustments metadata and close the “Camera Raw” dialog box without opening the file in Photoshop, click the “Done” button in the lower-right corner of the “Camera Raw” dialog box.
How to Save the Camera Raw Adjustments and Open the File as a Photo in Photoshop
Alternatively, to update the metadata of a camera raw file and then open it in Photoshop after making your camera raw adjustments, click the “Open” button in the lower-right corner of the “Camera Raw” dialog box.
