Overview:
How to Install Software from a Software Provider in Windows 11:
Windows 11 lets you install software from a variety of sources, including the Microsoft Store, software publishers’ websites, installation discs, and USB devices. Most software installers provide setup programs that guide you through the installation process. To install software, open the installer for the program and then follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the installation.
How to Install Apps from the Microsoft Store:
To install apps from the Microsoft Store, open the “Microsoft Store” app and search for the app you want to install. Then click the app in the search results and click the “Install” button. Windows downloads and installs the app automatically. After the installation is complete, you can open the app from the Start menu.
How to Uninstall an App in Windows 11:
To uninstall an app in Windows 11, click the “Start” button and then locate the app to remove. Right-click the app and then click the “Uninstall” command. Depending on the type of app, Windows may immediately begin the uninstall process or open the appropriate settings page where you can continue removing the app. Follow any prompts that appear to complete the uninstall process.
How to Uninstall Apps Using the Settings App in Windows 11:
You can also uninstall software through the “Settings” app. Open the “Settings” app and then click the “Apps” category in the navigation pane. Click the “Installed apps” setting and then locate the app or program to remove. Click the “More options” button that appears as three dots at the right end of the item’s listing and then click the “Uninstall” command. Follow any prompts that appear to remove the software from your computer.
How to Uninstall Software in Windows 11 Using the Control Panel:
Some desktop programs can also be managed through the legacy “Programs and Features” window in Control Panel. To open the Control Panel, click the “Start” button and then type “Control Panel” into the search box. Then click the “Control Panel” app in the search results to open it. If the Control Panel is using the default “Category” view, click the “Uninstall a program” link under the “Programs” category. Alternatively, if the Control Panel is using the “Large icons” or “Small icons” view, click the “Programs and Features” icon.
In the “Programs and Features” window, select the program to change or remove and then click the available command in the toolbar, such as “Uninstall,” “Change,” or “Repair.” The available options depend on the software that is selected.
After uninstalling software, Windows removes the program from your computer. However, some programs may leave behind user settings, configuration files, or personal data that you can remove separately if desired.
