Overview of How to Close Files in Photoshop:             To close a file in Photoshop, click the small “x” button at the right end of the file’s name in the tab at the top of the document window. Alternatively, select “File| Close” from the Menu Bar. Performing either action closes the currently-active file in Photoshop.
